Yvonne Yvette Mendoza

Yvonne Yvette Mendoza, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in Henderson, Nevada. She was born September 13, 1938 in Munising, Michigan to Charles and Evelyn Knee Maxam. On August 31, 1968 she married Daniel Mariano Mendoza in Corona, California and then one year later they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple on August 31, 1969.

Yvonne grew up in Marlette, Michigan. When she was newly married, she worked as a cosmetologist in California. She and Danny chose to raise their family in Prescott, Arizona. Over the years they owned and operated several beauty salons. They moved to Overton, Nevada in 1988 where they opened "The Wild Hair" salon.

She was very athletic and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed running, hiking, backpacking, boating, four wheeling and camping.

Survivors include her husband, Danny of Overton, NV; two sons and two daughters: Corey (Robin) of Chino Valley, AZ; Scott (Sara) of Henderson, NV; Marcie (Randall) Schear of St. George, UT; Kerry Cutler of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Keith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Hinckley Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 9:20 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
