Bassel Warren Pulsipher, age 82, died Friday, July 31, 2009 in Lancaster, California. He was born April 15, 1927 in Arden, Nevada to Charles William and Nevada Hardy Pulsipher. On July 16, 1949 he married Jackeletta Stirling in Las Vegas, NV.
Warren grew up in Mesquite, Nevada and was known by the name "Chot". He served his country in the US Navy during WWII, stationed on the islands of Guam and Kwajalein. After the war, he came back to Mesquite where he met Jackie, she was from Hurricane, UT, but was working in Mesquite. He raised his family in San Diego where he lived for over 50 years, working for MH Golden Construction Company 37 years as a truck driver, then as a purchasing agent. He retired in March of 1993. He enjoyed bowling, San Diego Padre Baseball and reading and watching Westerns. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and church basketball.
Survivors include his wife Jackeletta of Lancaster, CA; one son, Michael (Didi) of Hemet, CA; one daughter, Denise (Curtis) Paul of Lancaster, CA; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: Willverna Leavitt of Mesquite, NV; Howard Pulsipher of Moapa, NV; Frenchie (Marilyn) Pulsipher of El Cajon, CA and Katie Lee of Mesquite, NV.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Mesquite 5th Ward Chapel, Mesquite, Nevada. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Mesquite City Cemetery under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, 702 346-6060.
