Walter Dale Mann

Walter Dale Mann, 90, passed away on July 17, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV. Walter was born on Jun 29, 1933 in Camdenton, MO to Earl Ernest Mann and Sadie Olive Carroll. He married Wilma Virgie Wheeler on March 27, 1953. Walter grew up in Missouri, and loved being in the outdoors. He loved to go hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed history, collecting coins and researching his own genealogy. He was always serving others. He was the Treasurer for the Frasier Park VFW and was on the local water board. He would devote much of his time in caring for his parents and grandparents as they aged and passed away.

Walter was a devoted and loyal worker. He joined Standard Oil in high school, and worked his way to Station Manager and retired more than forty years later. He took pride in his work and making the company more efficient. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his wife, Wilma V. Mann; his son, John (Sherrie) Mann; his son-in-law, Rickie Watson; his grandchildren, Cory Mann, Sean Mann, Amber (Vaughn) Stewart, Logan (Rebecca) Mann, Stefani (Nathan) Patterson, Nick (Cathy) Watson, Richard (Heather) Watson, and Michael (Leah) Watson; and his twenty-seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Watson; his brothers, Earl Ernest, Jr. and Carroll Dean Mann; his parents; and his siblings-in-law, Jewel Haney, Melvin Jay Wheeler, and Alfred Rose Wheeler.

Viewing services will be held on August 5, 2023, 10-11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Monica Ward Building, 851 Monica Street, Bakersfield, CA 93306. Graveside services will be held on August 5, 2023, 11:30 a.m, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
