Vivian Florence (Nast) Richardson

November 9, 1925 — October 23, 2021

Overton, NV

Vivian Florence Richardson, 95, passed away on October 23, 2021 in Overton, NV. Vivian was born on November 9, 1925 in Harvey, ND to Conrad Robert Nast and Minnie Olga Thom. Vivian served with the United States Army Air Forces as a Message Attendant and Nurse during WWII. She continued working as a nurse for several years after the war. She met her future husband, James Melvin Richardson at a skate rink where James worked as a DJ. He would play Cold Cold Heart until she said yes to marry him, and the whole rink cheered. Vivian and James were married on July 29, 1956. She worked several other jobs and later started at Pacific Press Publishing Association partnered with the Seventh Day Adventists. She worked till she was seventy-two.

She and James were never able to conceive children, so they were foster parents for a time. One day, their coordinator brought them a young girl named Leisa, and they quickly adopted her on November 9, 1968. Vivian loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and would do anything for them. She was an angel.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Leisa (Aaron) Davidson and many loving family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Richardson, her parents, and her six siblings.

Vivian will be laid to rest in the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery at a later date. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
