Virginia Powers, age 86, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on December 15, 1927 to Pat and Maude Glader in Petersburg, Indiana.
This dynamic woman was always full of wonderful ideas. Her most recent venture was starting the Moapa Valley community-wide yard sale. What a hit that has become!
Virginia is survived by two daughters; Ann (UPS Annie) & Tom Gaball of Logandale, and Ellecia (Dominique) Slone of Alamo/Scoops Restaurant; two grandchildren, Scott Furney of Pahrump, NV and Summer (Steve) Pearce of Alamo; two beautiful great granddaughters, Kaylee and Abby; and her younger sister, Colonel Margaret (Peggy) Land of Las Vegas.
A short memorial service will be held at the Moapa Valley Mortuary on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 4 p.m. Then please come to UPS Annie’s for food and hugs, 1616 Anasazi, Logandale (Off Moapa Valley Blvd. between Cappalappa and Navajo.
