Virginia Rose Herb, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born May 8, 1925 in Stotts City, Missouri to Raymond J. and Lorene Stotts Patton. On April 18, 1944 she married Lon Thomas Morris in Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1966. She later married Robert Herb. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2014.
Virginia grew up in Missouri. She moved to California in her teens and graduated from El Segundo High School. She then went on to work on the tail section of the SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber around 1943 at Douglas Aircraft in El Segundo, CA. She raised her family with her husband in California and worked for the Social Security Administration after his death in Canoga Park, CA. She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2003. She enjoyed serving in a philanthropic organization through her church.
She is survived by one son, Michael Morris of Rio Verde, AZ; one daughter, Lonna (David) O’Neal of Mesquite, NV; step daughter, Judy (Steve) Harmon of CA; one stepson, Larry (Glenda) Herb of MI and one granddaughter, Stacey (Mike Spasev) McKenna of Ft. Collins, CO.
