Violet Zadroga
Violet Geraldine Zadroga, 94, of Mesquite, Nevada passed away February 5, 2009 following a brief illness. She was born on December 7, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Mary Kuich. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Taterka, grandson, Michael Taterka, niece, Ann Beltran, and family friend, James Sowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester S. Zadroga, sisters, Mildred Kriz and Winnifred Borth and son, Chester S. Zadroga.
Vi attended Northwestem University in Chicago working towards a degree in accounting. She married her husband, Chester, in 1939. After her husband passed away, Violet worked as an accountant in private industry to fund her children's college education. Vi moved to Northglenn, Colorado in 1974 where she worked at the Department of Defense at the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center in Denver. Upon her retirement, she was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver and traveled extensively.
Violet moved to Mesquite in 2002. She was a member of the Desert Dames and attended La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church. Vi enjoyed gardening, reading, playing bridge, Scrabble and all the friends she made. As one of her dear friends said, "She was one classy lady."
A Celebration Mass will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bunkerville. lf desired, contributions to the Building Fund of La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church may be made in her memory.
