Verus Jo Root

VERUS "JO"OSWALD, ROOT passed away at age 87 on December 31,2009 at her home in Mesquite NV surrounded by loving family. Born August 9th, 1922 in Rupert, Idaho to Emma L.Martindale and Reed Bradly Catmull. Jo was the second of 6 siblings, all who proceeded her in death except for one brother, Bob Catmull, still living in Idaho. Jo graduated in Rupert, Idaho and received a scholarship to Stevens Henager Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jo was married to Andrew Kenneth Oswald for 23 years when he passed away in 1965. She married Harold "Stoney" Root in 1969. He still resides in Mesquite, Neveda. She leaves two children from her 1st marriage. A son, James Kenneth Oswald (Jori) of Centerville, Utah, and a daughter, Lynda O. Riding (Ben) of Mesquite, Neveda. Jo had 11 adoring grandchildren and 24 Great-grandchildren. She was a professional bowler and an excellent golfer. Many loved ones will miss her quick sense of humor.

Thanks to everyone (including Virgin Valley Hospice) who made her life a little easier at the end. There will be a small family service celebrating her full life at a later date.
