Vernie Eva Shreck, age 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 8, 2010 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born September 5, 1925 in Malta, Montana to Guy Dwight Clark and Cleo Salina Redford Clark. She married James Russell Blue who passed way on May 3, 1950. On March 31, 1951 she married Donald Thomas Shreck in Ogden, Utah.
Vernie grew up in Driggs, Idaho. She raised her family in Ogden, Utah and retired to Mesquite, Nevada. She was an energetic business woman, owning a wig & beauty salon, several restaurants and real estate businesses. She organized and served as the first president of the Roy Lady Elks Auxiliary #2338. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and being with her family. She was also a cancer survivor.
Survivors include her husband Donald of Mesquite, NV; two daughters: Sandra McAllister of Quartzsite, AZ; Deanna (Thomas) Delgado of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one sister and by two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to a charity of ones choice.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11am at the Mesquite United Methodist Church, 420 N. Pioneer Blvd., Mesquite, Nevada.
