Verna Heller

February 24, 1919 — March 16, 2014

Verna Chadburn Tobiasson Heller, age, 95, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 16, 2014. She was born February 24, 1919 in St. George, Utah to Robert Henry and Dinah Ann Hunt Chadburn. She had a twin brother Vaughn, he passed away at the age of 3 months in St. Thomas. On August 14, 1937 she married Heber Ralph Tobiasson in Logandale. They had four children and were later divorced. In December 1973 she married Louis Albert Heller in Logandale. He preceded her death on October 15, 2001.

Verna grew up in St. Thomas, Nevada. She is one of the last known people to have lived in the little town lost to the waters of Lake Mead. When she was 16 years old her family moved to Springville, Utah, her family desired to return to Logandale and she gradutated from Moapa Valley High School in 1937. She raised her family in Logandale. She loved being outside. She was well known for her beautiful flower gardens, and often made arrangements for church meetings, funerals and weddings. She loved hunting, fishing and exploring the desert. She served as the Primary Secretary for over 32 years. She will be remembered as a strong, loving, family comes first mother and grandmother.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter: Ravenna Jorgensen (Eddie) Alcorn of Las Vegas, NV; Glade (Virginia "Beezy" Lani) Tobiasson of Logandale, NV; Murray (Sherry Totman) Tobiasson of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren: Kyna Nelson, Wendy Canfield, Cleo Jorgenson, Becky Gunter, Troy Tobiasson, Theresa Freeman, Karma Robison, Stacy Whitmore, Jimmy Tobiasson, Todd Tobiasson, Scott Tobiasson, Shane Tobiasson, Robyn Powell; 28 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark; one son in law, Douglas Mads Jorgensen; three brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
