Vaughn Howard Duffin, age 89, died peacefully at home in Henderson, Nevada on August 26, 2014. He was born December 22, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Howard LeRoy and Priscilla Walker Duffin. On October 1, 1954 he married Beverly Anne Thyret in Springdale, Utah. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1969. He married Eva Mae Payne on June 18, 1976 in Burbank, California. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2004. Vaughn Grew up in Salt Lake City. He entered the US Army as a young 18 year old and served in the European Theater of WWII as a member of the 743rd Tank Battalion. He raised his family in Burbank, California where he worked his way up to Vice President of Certified Life Insurance Company. He retired to St. George, Utah where he enjoyed golfing, tennis, fishing, and computers. Always keen to learn, he loved to read. He will be remembered for his integrity, his sense of humor and for his constant support and encouragement to all. Survivors include two daughters: Pamela (Gary) Call; Lisa (David) Johnson both of Henderson, NV; step daughter, Kathy (Craig) Ainge of Mapleton, UT; step son, Steve (Elizabeth) Vaughan of Santa Clarita, CA; nephew, Derry (Luiz) Kaufman of FL; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Celia and his two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, NV. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will follow at the Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah at 2 p.m. (Utah Time).
