Vada Charlene (Adams) Hopkins

Vada Charlene Hopkins, 83, of Mesquite, NV, passed away Tuesday  August 24, 2021 while asleep at home.

Charlene was born January 8, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, to Vada and Charles Adams. She grew up in National City where she met her husband, Gerald Hopkins.  They were married on June 15, 1955.  They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.   Shortly after they were married they began to raise their three children in Los Angeles, CA.  In 1967, they moved to Minneapolis where they lived for 40 years.  In 1997 they moved to Nevada to escape the cold Minnesota winters.

She was a life-long learner who was constantly reading and learning something new everyday.  She worked hard to try new recipes and stay healthy.  Over the years she has continued to work at Town and Country automobile dealership doing accounting and keeping her mind sharp.  She loved to travel and to see new things.  She planned many camping trips, cruises and even drove across the country last fall to attend her granddaughter’s wedding.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald Hopkins; her son, David Hopkins (Lisa); her grandchildren: Angela Gaddy, Michelle Syler (Patrick), and Lauren Rysedt (Cole), and; her great grandchildren, Robert and Brandis.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Janet and Valerie Hopkins; and her grandchild, Vanessa.

There will be a memorial service at some point in the future.
