Tommie Davidson

Tommie Allen Davidson of Mesquite, Nevada passed away July 10, 2008. Tommie and his wife, Jennye, moved to Mesquite eight years ago from Fort Pierce, Florida.

Tommie was born in Panama City, Florida on February 11, 1936, to Raymond Alexander Davidson and Merline Howard Davidson. Before World War II, Tommie and his family moved to the Panama Canal Zone, where he attended grade school, middle school and graduated from Balboa High School in 1954.

In high school he played football, basketball, baseball, and water polo. He was the dresser of the day and continued to be "best dressed" all through life. He attended Colorado State University and then went to work for a chemical company in Panama City followed by a 35-year career with Pratt Whitney Aircraft, a division of United Technologies. He was a metallurgist working with titanium for lighter weight airplane engines, in West Palm Beach, Florida and Columbus, Georgia. He assisted in opening a state-of-the-art plant in Columbus, Georgia in 1982 and remained there until his retirement in 1994. He and his wife moved back to Florida before moving west in 2000.

Tommie was preceded in death by his mother, father and only brother, Ray, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Jennye, sons, Tommie Jr. (Katrina) and Steve (Anne); and six grandchildren.

Tommie's knowledge of trivia and numbers was well known by his friends. He could tell you anything about any sport, movies, and songs as well as give you percentages, sums and products at the drop of a hat. His humor and "smarts" and caring ways will be missed greatly.

No services are scheduled.
