Thomas Clay Mccauley

Thomas Clay McCauley, age 73, died Monday, July 14, 2014 in Logandale, Nevada. He was born October 23, 1940 in San Francisco, California to Billy Clay and Della Elizabeth Thomas McCauley. On October 20, 1962 he married Nevona Bunker in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2002.

Tom grew up in Turlock, California. He served two years in the US Air Force with an Honorable early release at the sudden death of his mother. After spending a few years back on the family dairy, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Working for the US Postal Service, he met and fell in love with Nevona. He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree at UNLV and worked as an Auditor for Clark County.

Tom and Nevona moved their young family to Moapa Valley in 1977 to be near Nevona’s parents. Tom loved to garden and spent countless hours working with his children in their nursery. His hobbies include reading, family history and crocheting.

Survivors include Cheryl (Stacy) Edwards of Overton, NV; Lisa (Dan) Baker of Overton, NV; Beth (Rob) Cooper of Logandale, NV; Rhonda (Corey) Rowley of Overton, NV; Kara (David) Lewis of Alamo, NV; Tommy (Stephanie) of Logandale, NV; Kassi of Logandale, NV; Tim (Alise) of Las Vegas, NV; 28 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Karen of Salt Lake City, UT.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Alamo Cemetery.
