Thomas Irwin Armstrong

November 13, 1961 — July 29, 2013

Thomas Irwin Armstrong, age 51, surrounded by family and friends, died peacefully Monday, July 29, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born November 13, 1961 in Los Angeles, California to Harriett Ann Fugate-Armstrong. Tom grew up in Southern California. At the age of ten, he moved to Las Vegas. He graduated from Chaparral High School, Class of 1979 , and attended UNLV, having a dual major and receiving degrees in both Business and Accounting. He earned his law degree at UC San Diego and spent one year at Oxford University in England. Once out of law school, he built a law practice in Laguna Beach, CA where he lived until 2004. His passions were traveling the world, family and friends, and his pets, especially his dogs. He was generous with his time and when needed, would drop everything to help others. If you were down, he was there to pick you up. He was a great friend and received that friendship full circle in the end. In his youth, he was an avid comic book collector, dirt bike rider, and practiced magician. He loved history and computers. He was a reserved, reflective, creative, brilliant, elegant, and prideful man, that dressed well, loved living on the beach in Laguna, and entertaining friends for dinner. He was a wonderful son, brother, and an uncle that would do anything for his one and only niece, Brascia. He was preceded in death by his adoring mother. He is loved and will be forever missed. Survivors include his sister, Nanda (H.C.) Rowe of Henderson, NV; his niece, Brascia Fenison; his two great-nephews, Josan and Nevin Fenison of Las Vegas, NV; his life friend, Scott Morrel, of Las Vegas, NV; his aunt, Sue (Gordon) Reber of Meteetse, WY; his uncles, Larry (Martha Kay) Fugate of Whitehall, AK, and Stan Blosser of Mesquite, NV, as well as many cousins and friends. A very heartfelt 'Thank you' to Dr. Cade, the nurses and CNA, Pete of the 200 West Wing at UMC - you are all amazing people. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to AFAN and/or the Ryan White Foundation. A private "Celebration of Life" will be held.
