Sylveria"Sylvia" Huerta, age 88, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at her home in Logandale, Nevada. She was born May 21, 1924 in La Isla, Texas to Manuel and Josephina Nunez Zubia. On April 10, 1972 she married Anastacio Huerta in Overton, Nevada. They were then sealed in the Las Vegas Temple on January 21, 1995. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2011 Sylvia grew up in Fabens, Texas. She lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico for a short time before moving to Moapa Valley in 1965. She was a devoted wife and mother and took great pride in raising her children. She loved the noise and activity of having her grandchildren and family in her home. She worked as a cook at the school in Texas and later at Mom's CafAC.. She was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed serving in the Temple. Survivors include three sons and two daughters: Tony Zubia of Bremerton, WA; Ramon Lester of Las Vegas, NV; Bertha Campbell of Logandale, NV; Veronica of Louisiana; Francisco of Tijuana, MX; 9 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be Friday, July 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Moapa LDS Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Warm Springs Cemetery.
