Susan Grace Kinsey was born July 10, 1953 in a small village in the mountains of Westmoreland County, PA. This small village, is called Waterford. It is so small, it does not have a post office. The post office is in Ligonier, PA.
Susan was born to Woodrow Wilson and Anna Pearl Kinsey. She was also greeted by one sibling, a 16 year old sister, Vivian Kinsey. Susan’s family and their friends were thrilled to welcome this beautiful little 6 lb., redheaded girl. Susan had the advantage in her early years of growing up among many cousins, some older and some younger than her.
Just a year after Susan was born, her sister left home to go to university. When she was about seven years old, her mother, father, and Sue moved to California to join several members of her mother’s family. From there, they moved to Nevada. Essentially, Susan grew up in the West.
Shortly after graduation from Antelope High School in Lancaster, CA, Susan married Ray Slavinski and about a year later had their wonderful son, Corey Slavinski.
She loved animals. Susan always had a pet dog or a cat.
Sue’s sister was overcome with joy to learn few months before Sue’s death that she was baptized into the River Valley Bible Church. Sue reported to her sister that she was now very happy. She loved the people in the church and felt that she was loved by the members of the congregation. Sue was unmarried at the time of her death.
Susan is survived by her son, Corey Slavinski; her older sister, Vivian Talley, and two cousins with whom she was very close, Ann Frye Locy and Gladys Russel, and many loving friends.
Susan passed away on December 29, 2019 and chose to be cremated and her ashes will be placed in Nevada by her son, Corey.
