Stewart L. Slack
Stewart Loyd Slack, age 82, died Thursday, December 26, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born July 4, 1937 at the Cottonwood Maternity Home in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold and Thelma Herron Slack. On November 20, 1959 he married the love of his life Joanna Mayne in Salt Lake City, Utah. From this union they had seven beautiful children.
Stewart grew up in the Salt Lake Valley. He spent his teenage years in Oregon. He loved spending time on the coast or admiring a scenic view. He attended college in Illinois before entering the US Air Force in 1956. He later worked for Eimco and Spudnik as a machinist in the mining industry, raising his family in the Salt Lake valley. Stewart loved the outdoors, being active riding motorcycles, hunting, shooting, fishing and painting beautiful works of art. He will be remembered for his great stories and love of adventure.
He is survived by three sons and three daughters: James (Lynn) of Coos Bay, OR; Venessa (Eric) Nystrom of Ely, NV; Rebekah (Vernon) Bunker of Alamo, NV; Kelly (Rachel) of Casper, WY; Cassandra (Mike) Huskinson; Zachary (Patrina) both of Gun Barrel City, TX; 17 grandchildren and one great grandson with more on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one son, Jonathan.
