Shirley Anne Zecher

Shirley Anne Zecher, 90, passed away December 9, 2014 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born February 22, 1924 in Lemmon, South Dakota to August Franklin and Mary Stella Meuret Skretteberg. On October 20, 1954 she married Euland Arthur Zecher in Rapid City, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2010.
Shirley grew up in Shade Hill, South Dakota. As a child she moved to a farm in Carson, North Dakota. She worked as a secretary and later for the IRS. She enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world as her husband served in the military. They retired to Mesquite in 2006. Shirley loved to knit, visit the casinos and she was an avid reader. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed serving in the Veterans Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include her three daughters: Laurel (Michael) Riley of SLC, UT; Mary Sue (Kevin) Erickson of Ft. Bridger, WY; Brenda (Dale) Wise of Layton, UT; 6 grandchildren: Allison, Ember, Caleb, Ben, Anna, Emily and 3 great grandchildren: Jade, Bobee and Piper Caves. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Mesquite Lutheran Church.
