Shirley Hubbert

Lilah Shirley Hubbert, age 85, died Monday, August 5, 2013 in St. George, Utah. She was born March 9, 1928 in McIntosh, Minnesota to Albert Louis and Sophie Olena Thoveson Larson. On October 22, 1955 she married Robert LeRoy Hubbert, Sr. in Miles City, Montana. Shirley grew up in Minnesota. She enjoyed raising her two children as a housewife in Big Piney, Wyoming. She enjoyed cooking, baking and quilting. Later she was instrumental in bringing a senior center to Big Piney and served as its first director. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She started snowbirding in Overton, Nevada in 1990, later making Overton her home. Survivors include one daughter, Zania (Duane Selfe) Hubbert of Littleton, CO; one son, Bobby (Vicki) of Big Piney, WY and two grandchildren, Bryson and Meghan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert. Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
