Sharon Lee Turnstrom, 74, passed away on April 13, 2024 in Overton, NV after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Sharon was born on February 21, 1950 in Warsaw, NY to Charles R. Barber and Phyllis E. Coffee. Sharon’s family moved often, following her father as he worked on building railroads through western New York. They eventually settled in Alden, NY, and Sharon met Robert Turnstrom at NYF, a Methodist youth group. She and Bob became good friends, and started dating as they went into high school. They were always together, and they wished to be married. With the conflict in Vietnam, and a good chance that Bob, may be drafted, Sharon wished for them to be married. They were married on April 1, 1967 in Silver Springs, NY, and raised three children together. Sharon and Bob moved their young family to Las Vegas, NV to care for her parents as they got older. With the passing of their daughter, Kelly Sue, Sharon took to caring for her grandchildren. She and Bob moved to Bedias, Texas for three years, and met many wonderful friends there. They moved back to Nevada, and settled in Overton, NV.
Sharon loved to crochet and knit, always making stuff for her kids and grandkids as she would sit and watch television. She would always find a way to attend a good BINGO game. She loved her family and was always grateful for the care they gave her as she struggled with her health.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Bob Turnstrom; her children, Cami (Wayne) Lee and Eric Turnstrom; her son-in-law, Randy Starr; her grandchildren, Bradley, Kaitlin, Jordan, Dustin, Riley, and Brent; her great-grandchildren, Brinlee and Carly; and many nieces and nephews in New York. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Phyllis Barber; and her daughter, Kelly Sue Starr.
