Ruth Helsten

Ruth Helsten, 78, passed away on April 19, 2013 in St. George, UT. She was born in 1934 in Columbia, South Carolina to Jesse and Maude Lee. She married Harvey B. Helsten on June 1, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ruth was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and after graduating high school she moved to Great Falls, Montana. She moved back to Salt Lake in 1964 and then to Mesquite in 1994 . She co-owned a bar in Scofield, Utah with her husband Harvey; his brother Paul and wife Linda. She enjoyed bowling, camping and playing bingo.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Harvey of Mesquite, NV, three children; Starr Dowding (Paul) of Salt Lake City, UT, Brett (Jana) of Salt Lake City, UT and Taralee of Mesquite, NV; and eleven grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, son (Guy Lee), her brother and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the Virgin Valley Mortuary 320 E. Old Mill Road Mesquite, NV. The family is requesting no flowers. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mesa View Care and Dixie IHC.
