Rosella Bates, age 82, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born March 27, 1932 in Noti, Oregon to Leonard and Opal Irene Hackley Roush. On March 7, 1950, she married Gilbert A. Main. They raised 9 children and later divorced. On May 15, 1971, she married Alton Bates in Weiser, Idaho.
Rosella grew up in Oregon and Idaho and raised her family there as well. She moved to Mesquite nine years ago to live with her daughter, Mary. She had been active the past two years in the LDS Church. She enjoyed crafts, embroidery, and jigsaw puzzles. She loved everyone, and she was easy to love.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters: Martha (Harvey) Booth; Mary (Paul) Waite; Emma (Dennis) Anderson; Charles (Debbie) Main; Rodney (Rebecca) Main; 32 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and one sister, Edna (Wyman) Beagle. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton Bates; one son, Gilbert D. Main; three daughters, Opal Letson, Bobbie Rose, and Dianne; and one brother, Leonard Roush Jr.
The family would like to thank the staff of Highland Manor and the Mesquite 7th Ward for the joy you gave her these past years. They would also like to thank her dear friend and roommate Irene Goodwin for the love and friendship she gave her.
