Ronald Patrick Ward, age 66, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Overton, Nevada. He was born February 28, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Hubert Eugene Ward and Jesse Elaine Manual Neel. Ronald lived his early life in the Nashville, Tennesse area. He entered to US Navy as a young 17 year old. On April 14, 1969 he married Josefina Ortega in the Philippines who has been his inspiration and support for 43 years. Survivors include his wife, Josefina of Overton; two sons and one daughter: James Patrick (Stella) Ward of Phoenix, AZ; Michael (Yesenia) Ward of Las Vegas, NV; Renee of Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren and one brother, John (Melissa) Neel of Tennessee, niece Robin Chapman of Lafayette, LA and nephews Michael and John Ward of Murfreesboro, TN. One daughter, Legaya Ward and two brothers Michael Ward and Robert Ward precede him in death. After 23 years and three tours in Vietnam, he retired to Overton, Nevada where he was actively engaged in his community. He had strong values and in his mind, family always came first. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 9 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
