Ronald Henry Saxion

Mesquite, NV - Ronald Henry Saxion, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born on August 27, 1944 in Dayton, PA to John Henry and Anna Lorraine (Bowser) Saxion. He married Martha Jeanne (Ferguson) 47 years ago on September 23, 1967.

Formerly of West Farmington, OH Ronald moved to Mesquite, NV in 2010. He was an electrician at Van Huffel Tube for 24 A½ years and moved on to Vanex Tube in 1987. There he was the electrical maintenance supervisor for 23 years, retiring in 2010; for a total of 48 years in industry.

Mr. Saxion raised registered quarter horses, and enjoyed trail riding, camping, cycling, and going on cruises. He was owner with his wife of a concession trailer selling elephant ears and funnel cakes mostly.

He was a member of the West Farmington United Methodist Church, serving as the Board Chairman for many years. When he moved to Mesquite he became a member of the Mesquite United Methodist Church and served on the Staff Parish Committee.

He was a member of the Grand River Riders 4-H club teaching Horsemanship and served as the advisor. He served on the Farmington Township Zoning Board and was on the Farmington Local School Board.

He will be missed by family and friends. Survivors include his wife Martha Jeanne Saxion; one son Michael (Patty) Saxion of Lebanon, OH, and one daughter, Patricia (Michael) Smith of Edwardsburg, MI; one brother, Jerry (Barbara) Saxion, two sisters, Judy (John) Rose and Sandy Taipale; 4 grandchildren, Sarah, Kaley, Jack and Ashley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am Friday, January 2, 2014 at the West Farmington United Methodist Church, 220 College Street West Farmington, Ohio.
