Ronald Allen Harrison, age 67, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born August 21, 1942 in Renton, Washington to Thomas Albert and Eleanora Olsen Harrison. On October 1, 1960 he married Faye Ruesch in Las Vegas, Nevada. On April 6, 1972 they were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple.
Ron grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada He served in the US Army and later in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam era. In 1974 he moved his young family to Logandale, Nevada. He worked as an IBEW union electrician and at the Nevada Test Site for a time. He enjoyed studying law and was a self proclaimed advisor of workman's comp law. He loved to garden, play his guitar and sing. He will be remembered for his love for people, visiting and providing service to those in need.
Survivors include his wife, Faye, five sons and five daughters: DeNae (Chester) Burke of Bremerton, WA; Sharon (Jesse) James of Ellensburg, WA; Cynthia (Vern) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; Eric of Bend, OR; Kevin (Stacye) of St. George, UT; Nikki Bibiano of Las Vegas, NV; Brian (Tami) of Oahu, HI; Clark of St. George, UT; Dayauna of Logandale, NV; Trevor (Lillian) of Ft. Bragg, NC; 30 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Wayne (Georgia) of Winnemucca, NV; Robert (Connie) of Pahrump, NV and Gloria Harrison of Overton, NV.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Hinckley Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
