Ronald David Burditt

October 22, 1966 — December 10, 2017

Ronald David Burditt Age 77 passed away on December 10, 2017 at a hospital in Las Vegas, NV due to complications from diabetes. He was born in San Jose, CA on August 18, 1940 to Dock Burditt and Viola Caldwell Burditt. He married Margaret D. Sharpe on October 22, 1966 in Phoenix, Az. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple.

Ronald was raised in California, Oklahoma, and Phoenix, AZ as the oldest of five children. He is survived by siblings Johnny Burditt, Donald Burditt, Tammie Burditt Spang, and Veda June Hubert; he has two living children Christine Burditt Thayne (Troy) and Richard Burditt and six beautiful grandchildren.

Ron was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved serving in his current ward in Beaver Dam in a variety of different callings including being the greeter in Sacrament meeting. He was an avid genealogist with a passion for family history. He spent many years researching interesting facts, stories, and family names.

He was a veteran in the US Army and served in Korea as a communications specialist. He was skilled at sketching which enabled him to become a civil engineer and surveyor for the City of St George. Ron had the privilege of working on the Arizona Gorge in the 1970’s while working for the State of Arizona.

Beaver Dam AZ. - Ron was talented in many ways and had many hobbies where he excelled. He had a ‘green thumb’ and enjoyed growing a productive garden, pretty flowers, and thriving plants. He felt at home in the outdoors and never turned down an opportunity to hunt, fish, or camp. He brought the outdoors in and loved to cook anything with his dutch ovens. He volunteered for years as an instructor for the Hunter’s Safety Program teaching youth and others to safely handle and shoot firearms.

He was a kind, patient, and generous son, brother, husband, and father. He spent his last years serving and helping family, friends, and many others including his ward family. Ron was determined to stay and live in the Beaver Dam ward where he felt loved, needed, and appreciated. Ron will be deeply missed, but we know he will be eternally happy as he is reunited with his Savior, beloved wife Margaret, and loving parents.
