Romajean Andersen

Romajean Andersen, age 85, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in St. George, Utah. She was born September 30, 1928 in Overton, Nevada to Lester Noble and Edna Simkins Shurtliff. She married Philip Elmo Andersen on March 26, 1949 in St. George, Utah.

Romajean lived most of her life in Overton. After graduating from high school she attended Brigham Young University for one year. She enjoyed woodworking, sewing, reading and painting. Family vacations always included camping and later riding 4-wheelers. She was faithful in her church callings and loved serving in Relief Society. She will be remembered for her kindness as a mother. Although she was busy running the family restaurant, Phil's Desert Freeze, her daughters knew they could count on her to listen and to be at the crossroads.

Survivors include four daughters; Sandi (Terry) Fisher of Filer, ID, Tammy (Eric) Rollins; Becky (David) May both of Overton; Charleen (Jim) May of Provo, UT; 18 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren; one brother, Lou (Diann) Long of Overton, NV; two sisters; Josephine (Richard) Sudweeks of Highland, UT and Myrna (Gordon) Conger of Bellvue, WA.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Overton 1st Ward Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary and again on Saturday from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the chapel.
