Rodney Allen Probst

Rodney Allen Probst, 56, passed away on October 19, 2022. Rodney was born on December 19, 1965 in New Port Beach, CA to Charles Henry Probst and Myrna Faye Bige. He was raised in Ontario by his mother and stepfather, Sonny Gardner. Rodney relocated to Echo Bay with his mom in about 1990 doing maintenance work where he also met his wife, Cathy. He married Catherine Marie Sweet on April 16, 1994 in Overton, NV. When Rodney was young, he was fascinated by gardening, and started working for landscapers and gardeners as a teenager in CA. He continued to plant and nurture gardens, and later in life, worked at True Value Home Hardware in Overton, NV to help others with their gardening and hardware needs. He loved being outside, especially to go fishing at Lake Mead or the reservoir. Rodney was someone who would never pass up a fishing trip. He was also a great cook, cooking different things every weekend. He loved Cathy, and their two daughters, Nichole and Kim, with his whole heart. He was goofy, always smiling, making friends, and the life of the party.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Cathy Probst; his daughters, Nichole (Luther Bow III) Probst and Kimberly Probst; his grandchildren, Makahi and Azalea; his mother, Myrna Garner; his siblings, Charles (Debbie) Probst, Teresa (Paul) Probst-Savoy, and Vikki (Dave) Valdez; his mother-in-law, Martha Sweet; and sister-in-law, Danielle Zappa. As well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Sonny Gardner, and his father-in-law, Daniel Sweet.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, 1-2 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. A Live-stream of the service may be found at Rodney  Probst Memorial Facebook Group.
