Robert Gordon Cole, age 86, died Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home in Beaver Dam, Arizona. He was born July 4, 1933 in Fairview, Idaho to Clifford Pratt and Ethel Maud Warrick Cole. On November 5, 1971 he married Verla Leone Meads in Preston, Idaho.
Robert grew up in Preston, Idaho. He joined the Air Force and fought in the Korean War, where he served in Germany and France, receiving several medals for his participation in the war. He raised his family in Salt Lake City, Utah where he worked as a supervisor/welder. He moved to Beaver Dam 30 years ago and was recognized for twenty years of service by the Government of the United States for observing the weather in Beaver Dam, AZ. He loved being known as a rock hound and enjoyed making beautiful rock jewelry for family and friends. Robert also loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and ATV riding with his family. He will be remembered as a loving and thoughtful husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Verla of Beaver Dam, AZ; three sons and four daughters: Robert (Kathy) of Kanab, UT; Cindy (Tom) Cromwell of Billings, MT; Mari Naef of Franklin, ID; Marie (George) Russom of Preston, ID; Steve (Bonnie) of Elmo, UT; Stacey (Scott) Birky of Salt Lake City, UT; William (Tracy) Hendrickson of Mendon, UT; 24 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Ellen Hart, five brothers and three sisters.
