Rita Tobiasson

December 12, 1944 — August 1, 2014

Rita Jane Haworth Tobiasson, 69, passed away August 1, 2014 from complications following surgery on July 24, 2014. She was surrounded by her family who are completely devastated by the unexpected death of their family's matriarch. Rita was born December 12, 1944 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Iris Leavitt Haworth and James S. Haworth.

Rita was raised and lived most of her adult life in Moapa Valley where, as a single mother following a divorce, she raised her two sons, Todd and Jimmy. Rita worked every job imaginable to provide a good life for her boys. She recently retired from the Clark County School District after working many hard years as a school custodian. She never complained about her difficulties or challenges. She was absolutely devoted to her family, and was the glue that held everyone together. She never tired of having visitors and planning get togethers to keep the family close.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and James Haworth, both of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her two sons, Jimmy H. Tobiasson (former wife Lorrie), and Todd "Toby" Tobiasson (wife, Melanie); Brother, Jerry Haworth (wife Sharon); Grandchildren, Shelby Hiser, Jamie Tobiasson (fiancAC. Dan Saggiomo), Sarah Tobiasson and Luke Tobiasson; Great-Grandchildren, Riley Hopkins, Kimber Hopkins and Colt Saggiomo and many nieces and nephews. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her passion and the focus of her entire life. We will be lost without her.

Services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Moapa LDS Church, 1420 E. Barlow, Moapa, Nevada. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM, just prior to services at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
