Retta Decker Waters

May 3, 1930 — May 10, 2015

Retta Decker Waters, age 85, passed peacefully on Sunday, May10, 2015 at her daughter's home in Reno, NV. She was born May 3, 1930 in Parowan, Utah to Joseph Victor Decker and Vera Wood. On September 8, 1946 she married her eternal companion Ronald Morgan Waters in Las Vegas, NV. They were sealed February 27, 1965 in the St. George LDS temple.

Retta grew up in Parowan, UT. She loved her family and was blessed with 8 beautiful children, 21 grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren. Retta and Ron resided in Logandale in 1990 and always loved living in the valley by their many friends and family. Retta will be remembered for her sincere love of the gospel, big warm hugs, loving smile, her welcoming arms, and warmth and generosity to all those she met. She always loved spending her free time crocheting, but especially loved to cook and made sure that anyone that came to visit would never leave with an empty belly. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and for the great example she was of unconditional love to all those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include four daughters and one son: Annette (Ross) Jones of St. George, UT; Ronda (Louie) Chambers of Reno, NV; Jolene (Brad) Tanner of Springville, UT; David of Florida; Kristine (Loren) Young of Farron, UT; 21 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; two sisters: June Parkinson of Overton, NV, and Carol Carter of Parowan, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Morgan Waters, and three sons: Roger Decker Waters, Kevin Ronald Waters, and an infant son; two sisters, and four brothers.

A Grave Side Service will be held Saturday May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
