Reta Myrtle Arvilla Lamperth, 89, of Mesquite, Nevada passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012. She was born on January 26, 1923 in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada. Her family moved to Orland, California in 1924. She attended Healds Business College in Sacramento, California. She settled in Torrance, California with her husband Jim and raised her family. In 1992 she moved to Santa Barbara, California where she received awards for volunteering at the food bank. She enjoyed bingo games at the Senior Center and the Elks Club in Goleta, California. Survivors include three daughters, Denise (the late Bob) Strecker of Torrance, CA, Cindy (Roy) Zbinden of Mesquite, NV and Lynda (Douglas) Craver of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren, James Zbinden and Chris Zbinden both of Goleta, CA, Justin Craver and Jason Craver both of Scottsdale, AZ; six great grandchildren, Alex, Alexis, Austin, Zachary, Deanna and Natelee Zbinden all of Goleta, CA; and one sister, Patty Smith of Reno, NV. Private services will be held where she would like her ashes "flown to the moon".
