Ray Otero
Ray James Otero, 87, passed away July 4th, 2009. He was born December 15, 1921, in San Jose, California, to Santiago and Ida Marie de la Torres Otero. As a young man, he married Lois Demmie Horry in California. He served in both the Army and the Navy. He served in North Africa and Europe during WWII. He was a recipient of the Silver Star and Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by wife, Lois and one step son, Daniel Wilson.
Survivors include one son, Mike (Kim) Otero of Logandale, NV; one step son, Roy A. Wilson, of CA; grandchildren; David, Michael, Malissa, Chance and Trace Otero, Diane, Eric, Kevin, and Jill; great-grandson Cameron Otero and other great grandchildren.
The last years of his life were spent in Logandale. Ray enjoyed eating at Sugar's Homeplate and shakes from McDonalds. He often wondered if he would live long enough to see if the dinosaur at Ace Hardware would sell, and if Los Lupes would ever be built.
Services will be private and interment will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
