Randolph Meyers

Randy passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Moapa, NV. He was born in Las Vegas, NV on December 3, 1953 to the late Herbert Ward and Christina Samson Meyers.

In his teenage years, Randy moved to Las Vegas and lived with Dr. and Mrs. Pearson . He attended and graduated from Rancho High School where he played soccer, and loved to run on the track and cross country teams. He was able to meet and became good friends with Harry Reid through running races. He also helped light the torch which ran through Indian Country. He later met and married Marie Fletcher on December 8, 2005 at the Moapa Christian Church.

Randy graduated from Chapman Junior College with an AA Degree in Criminal Justice. He had a special love for kids with disabilities, and later became disabled himself. Randy loved cats, and his favorite football teams was the Green Bay Packers.

Randy is survived by his aunt Effie Myers Smith of St. George, UT, and uncle Bud Myers of Las Vegas, NV, nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie Fletcher Meyers, five brothers and one sister: Darwin Samson, Russell Samson, Rupert Meyers, Merton Meyers, and Lori Harrison Hyiton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moapa Tribal Building, followed by an all night Traditional Indian Sing.
