Peggy Sorensen

Peggy Lou Sorensen, age 65, died peacefully, Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at her home in Logandale, Nevada. She was born November 25, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to Henry Maxwell and Dorothy Morgan Backus.

Peggy grew up in Ohio, until as a teenager her family moved to Oregon. A few years later, as a young adult, they moved back to Dayton, Ohio, where she received training as a dental technician. On January 15, 1965 she married an Air Force Officer, Clyde Rask Sorensen and moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico. Following this assignment, the family returned to the Dayton area. Peggy had two daughters and divorced in the early '70's. She worked with several dental practices including the Wright - Patterson AFB Dental Clinic and for a short period in Saudi Arabia. In 2003, she moved to Logandale, Nevada to live with her dear friend and companion William G. "Bill" Grassmeier. She loved to cook and was a voracious reader. Survivors include Bill of Logandale; two daughters: Sherry L. (Chris) Thompson of Riverside, OH; Kristine M. (Jim) Sjoblom of Medway, OH; four grandchildren: Kirsten and Heather Thompson of Riverside, OH; Miranda and Anja Sjoglom of Medway, OH and one sister Patricia Ann Barker of Yellow Springs, OH.

At Peggy's request, her ashes will be spread in the desert hills near her home in Logandale. Private family services will be held. Arrangements under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
