Payton Wayne Bundy, age 59, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born June 11, 1953 in St. George, Utah to Newell Alma and Aileen Empey Bundy. He married Pamela Lynn Smith on May 31, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple. Payton grew up in Bunkerville til about the 3rd Grade when his family moved to Las Vegas. He started working as a young man. In his early years, he worked as a hod currier, broke colts and later he went into construction. He was always proud of his contribution to the construction of the I-15 freeway through the gorge,the airport tunnel and the overpasses and bridges.. He was a formidable operating engineer. Payton loved to rodeo. He was a magnificent saddle bronc rider He spent many hours gathering wild cows, breaking and training horses. He was a cowboy through and through. He loved to hunt and be in the outdoors. He will be remembered though for his love for his wife, kids and granddaughters. Survivors include his wife, Pamela of Loganale, NV; his daughter, Genie Aileen (Devin) Lawrimore of Fernley, NV; Ashley Nevada of Overton, NV; two granddaughters; his mother, Aileen Bundy of St. George, UT; two brothers and two sisters: Nevada Wesley (Carol) of Crystal City, TX; Nancy Lee (Richard) Madril of Kanab, UT; Diana Lynne (Press) Walch of Enterprise, UT; Frosty Ammon (Mindy) of Santa Clara, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be Friday, June 22 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will be at the Mt. Trumbull Cemetery on the Arizona Strip.
