Paul Edwin Olson, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on December 2, 2015 in Logandale, Nevada. He was born July 22, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to Paul Edwin and Dorothy Ruth Stowbridge Olson. On July 30, 1966 he married the love of his life, Esther Robison in Logandale, Nevada.
Paul grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He was a Merchant Marine and later served in the US Navy and the US Coast Guard. He loved the water, and was an exceptional swimmer. As a young man he worked as a Police Officer and later, after earning his Bachelors Degree, worked as an investigator for the Federal Government with his last position being Deputy Inspector General in charge of investigations for the Office of Export Enforcement at the Department of Commerce. His work took his family all over the US, including Los Alimos, NM; New Orleans, LA; Denver, CO; and finally Washington DC where he lived for 20 years. Finally he retired to his wife's hometown of Logandale, Nevada in 1999. He enjoyed reading, nature, and loved horses.
Survivors include his wife, Esther of Logandale, NV; two sons and two daughters: Nancy Olson of Las Vegas, NV; Douglas (Meredith) of Tualatin, OR; Cynthia (Andy Connolly) Olson of Brooklyn, NY; Brian (Lauren) of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren; one brother, Bruce (Linda) of American Fork, UT and one sister, Donna (Larry) Greene of Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Hinckley Chapel, 1505 Hinckley Ave., Logandale, NV. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
