Paul Bingham
Paul Eugene Bingham, age 67, died at his home in Mesquite, Nevada on July 1st, 2009. He was born March 21, 1942 in Bremerton, Washington to Eugene Clair and Alta Green Bingham. On February 15, 1964 he married Barbara L. Valerga in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Paul grew up in San Mateo, California. As a young man, he earned a full-ride football scholarship to BYU where he played running back. He served an LDS Mission in the Southern States. Throughout his life, he remained a diehard BYU fan. He raised his family in Huntington Beach, California, where he served as a bishop in the Huntington Beach 2nd Ward. He had a genuine love of people and an ability to effect their lives for the better. He excelled in business, marketing, and sales and created several highly successful businesses. In 1991 he moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah, and in 2005 he retired to Mesquite, Nevada.
Survivors include his sweetheart of 47 years, Barbara; one daughter and five sons: Jaime (Ammon) Brock of Wake Forest, NC; Jesse of Palo Alto, CA; Joshua of Palo Alto, CA; Jacob (Kim) of Draper, UT; Bo (Tammy) of Mesquite, NV; Jared (Annie) of Alpine, UT; eight grandchildren; three sisters: Janet Leonor of Clear Lake, CA; Marsha (Tom) Jensen of Gladstone, OR and Nancy (Craig) McKnight of Tulsa, OK.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Mesquite LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Mesquite City Cemetery under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary.
