Patrick Whitlock

Patrick Edward Whitlock, 70, passed away on July 8, 2016 in St. George, UT. Patrick was born on September 8,1945 in San Diego, CA to Fred B Whitlock and Francis Ryan Mitchell. Patrick married Patricia Lilian Garcia on July 8, 1967 in Aurora, CO; Patricia passed away on March 27, 2014.

Patrick was a great man and wonderful father. He loved his children and grandchildren greatly. Patrick loved to fish throughout his life, and during his time in Colorado, he would attend many Bronco’s games sitting in the South Stands. As a young man, he enjoyed playing AAA Baseball for the Shasta College, and later in life liked to gamble in casinos. Patrick was known for his great advice and filling out crosswords puzzles in pen. He had a sharp wit and would razz everyone. He loved to talk to everyone he met, and he was a “Gentleman’s gentleman”. Patrick and Patricia moved to Mesquite, NV in 2004 and made many friends here. Making friends was extremely easy for Patrick. Patrick was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Colombus, and a member of the Elk, Moose, and Eagle lodges. Patrick’s favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day, and made the effort to celebrate every single year. He participated in the Denver’s St. Patrick Day parade every year as a Marshall while he lived there. Patrick was a father that took care of his family. He was always supportive of his daughters and loved them dearly. He was infamous for his “dad-jokes”. He was Superman to his family.

Patrick is survived by his two daughters: Shannon (Jennifer) of Denver, CO; Dawn (Michael) Goodrich of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren: Lynzie, Jesse, Cody and Makenzie and great granddaughter, Lilly; one sister, Mary Lola Carter (Jerry); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his baby girl, Shawn.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 15, 2016 at 10:30 am at La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church. Visitation services will be held on Thursday July 14, 2016 at 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Virgin Valley Mortuary in Mesquite, NV.
