Patricia Kay Straley, age 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 16, 2019 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born February 27, 1941 in Rochester, Minnesota to Richard and Velma Edith Krum Tointon. In June of 1991, she married Harold Raymond Straley in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Patricia was raised in Rochester. She raised her family in many different areas, including Germany, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. She retired to Mesquite, Nevada in 1999. She was a very community minded person and enjoyed serving in the Lady of the Elks Lodge and as the Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Mesquite Veterans Day Parade. She helped to organize the parade and activities, and recruited participants and donations. She also enjoyed reading.
Survivors include her husband, Harold of Mesquite, NV; two sons and one daughter; Dorothy (Robert) Lathrop of Las Vegas, NV; Glenn (Mimi) Ferguson of San Antonio, TX; Garry (Linda) Ferguson of Pueblo, CO; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Rita (Elmer) Wenot of Stewartville, MN and one brother, Glenn (Mary Kay) Tointon of Fort Myers, FL. She was preceded in death by one daughter; Deanna Perry and one sister, Shirley.
Her ashes will be interred in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com.
