Patricia Alexander Rimpau passed away on April 8, 2022, in her residence at Mesa Valley Estates with her son and daughter-in-law at her side. She was 94 years old.
Patricia was born on January 18, 1928, in Albany, Oregon to Dell Roy and Ines (Fischer) Alexander. She joined an older brother, Phillip Newton Alexander. After attending Albany High School, Patricia attended Oregon State College where she met her future husband, Theodore B. Rimpau. They were married August 17, 1947 and were married for 61 years at the time of Ted’s death.
Patricia and Ted moved to Pismo Beach, California after college graduation while Ted completed courses for his Masters, then moved to Riverside, California where their son, James, was born in 1951. Ted bought a farm in Winnemucca, Nevada and they lived there for a couple of years until they bought a farm and moved to Milford, Utah in the mid-1950s.
While Ted farmed, Patricia became a high school teacher at Milford High School where she taught home economics and other subjects for 20 years. She then taught grade school at Milford Elementary School until she retired. Pat had many fond memories of her students and remarked that while teaching elementary school, she was often teaching the children of the students she taught in high school. After retiring, Patricia was elected to the Beaver County School Board and served 8 years. After her terms on the school board, she and Ted moved to Mesquite, Nevada where they lived until their deaths.
Patricia and Ted enjoyed their life in Mesquite and joined various organizations. One organization Patricia joined was the Desert Dames, which offered quilting and knitting groups. She loved her time with these ladies and produced many beautiful pieces.
Patricia is survived by her son James Rimpau and wife, Sydney, of Mesquite, and grandson Benjamin and wife, Amy, of Denver. She was predeceased by her parents, Dell and Ines; Ted, her husband; and Phillip her brother.
The family would like to thank the workers at Mesa Valley Estates and Mesa View Hospice who helped to make Mom’s last days comfortable.
