Patrick Owen Carter, age 63, died Monday, December 20, 2021 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born Septmeber 8, 1958 in Riverside, California to Floyd Allen and Margaret Ann Todd. He was married to Kathy Sprague, they had two daughters and were later divorced. On June 3, 2017, he married Tracy Lee Ashby in Overton, Nevada.
Pat’s family moved to Overton, Nevada where he graduated high school in 1977. He excelled in wrestling, football and gained a love for building engines and fixing cars. He loved racing, sand drags, car shows and winning “King of the Hills” races. He loved being in the shop, dispensing and receiving advice from everyone that shared his passion for cars. He worked at Simplot in Overton for 32 years. He was known as a handy man, expert electrician and side kick to Arnie Cottam. He quietly found opportunities to serve and help many people in the valley. He was a trusted friend, had a wicked sense of humor and loved people.
Survivors include his wife Tracy; daughters, Linda Carter, Stevie (Clint) Fisher and step daughter, Kristie Cole; seven grandchildren and one great grandson and sister, Stephanie (Ed) Schmachtenbeger. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Carter and one sister, Debra Hoyer.
