Orville Ronald Roberts died October 25, 2010, peacefully at home. He was born July 27, 1939 to Orville and Audrey Roberts in Sioux City, Iowa.
He grew up in Fairmount, North Dakota. He loved going back to visit the people of Fairmount and did as often as possible.
He retired from the City of Las Vegas Fire Department after 32 years of service. He loved his job and the camaraderie of his fellow firefighters.
He enjoyed white water rafting, ocean fishing (his wife always caught the biggest fish), golf (he lost more balls than he could count), and hunting.
His wife Becky Roberts, Mesquite, Nevada, survives him. Also, daughters, Terese (Doug) Harding, Sacramento, California, Brenda Roberts, Arvada, Colorado and Jill (Steve) Jacobs, Norfolk, Virginia. Two grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Las Vegas, Nevada, Crystal (Joe) Morgan, Las Vegas, Nevada and 3 great-grandchildren. And his brother Don Roberts, Victor, Montana and sister Jana (Jack) McKee, Creston, British Columbia. His parents Orville and Audrey Roberts preceded him in death.
Cremation will take place and at his request there will no services. If you wish to donate in his name the family suggests donations to Hepatitis C research or do something nice in his name, call an estranged family member or help a needy neighbor.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Alfaro, Mary Ann, the staff at Mesa View Hospital, and Virgin Valley Home Care & Hospice.
