Our beloved mother & grandmother Nina Roe Bohmfalk Bingham, 101, died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on Dec 27, 2020. Nina was born December 5, 1919 in Yancey, Texas to John Henry and Lillian Alma White Bohmfalk. Her brothers were told that Santa brought her. Nina loved to tell the story about how her dad dressed up in her mom’s robe as Santa. He looked down at her and said, “Well, who do we have here?” and her brothers said, “You ought to know, you brought her.”
Her family moved to Arizona in 1923 where she met her eternal sweetheart, Emer John Bingham. They were married in Bisbee, Arizona on Christmas Eve 1937. From this blessed union was born 2 daughters, Geneva and Marline, and 1 son, Gary. The most difficult challenge she had to go through was the loss of her beloved son, Gary when he was 12 years old. She and Emer were so saddened by the loss that to help fill the hole in their hearts they adopted two children in 1963: a daughter, Deanna, and a son, John Alan.
She became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962. She was a devoted, charitable member, always serving with love and kindness. Family always came first with Nina and she always had our favorite treats on hand when she knew we were going to visit. She always greeted visitors with her ever present smile.
Even as time stole her ability to do many things she let us know how grateful she was that we were there to visit her.
She is survived by her daughters, Geneva Richardson of Logandale, NV, Marline (Mike) Kentera of Henderson, NV and Deanna Bingham; her son Alan Bingham of Tennessee, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 13 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sweetheart Emer, her son, her son-in-law Doug Richardson, her 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
