Nedra Louise Jensen (1950-2022)
Nedra Louise Jensen, 71, beloved mother, daughter, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully from cancer, with her daughter tenderly watching over her on July 10, 2022, at the Infinity Hospice Care Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nedra was born on October 20, 1950, in the California Hospital on Hope Street in Los Angeles, California. She was the fourth child of Ned Ashton Jensen and Helen (Blair) Jensen. Her siblings include Linda Jeanne, Blaine Ashton, and Hal Blair Jensen, all of whom have preceded her in death. Nedra was raised in Southern California. At age six, Nedra contracted encephalitis while living in Victorville, California. Thankfully, she recovered. Nedra married Lawrence Edward Pulsipher, on June 27, 1969, in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Los Angeles, California. Their only child, Rebecca Jensen, was born on July 28, 1970. The marriage lasted three years. They divorced in September of 1972.
Nedra followed in the footsteps of her father by becoming a pharmacist. She enrolled at USC, her father’s alma mater, and eventually received her Degree of Pharmacy in 1980 from the University of Southern California School Of Pharmacy in Los Angeles, California. She was also president of the Rho Pi Phi, an international professional pharmacy fraternity, serving from 1978 through 1980. She then became president of the QSAD-Centurion, the alumni support group of the USC School of Pharmacy, helping to raise funds for various projects. In 1995, she earned an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of California San Francisco.
Nedra was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She moved to Henderson, Nevada in 2011 and her heart turned to family history. As part of the Warm Springs Stake, Silverado Ward, she indexed over 72,000 records at familysearch.org. She then volunteered to serve a two year mission as an LDS Tech Service Missionary, reviewing and reporting back on Gospel Library content. In response to being released from her mission in 2016, she gratefully wrote this statement. “I have learned more in those two years than I have learned in the sixty-five years I have been in the church.” Later, while living at Delmar Gardens, a nursing care facility, Nedra continued to spend ten or more hours a day, adding thousands of sources and notes to FamilySearch records. She loved family history and she loved America. Nedra had many ups and downs in her life, but she persevered through them. She is now having a glorious reunion with countless loved ones on the other side of the veil. Rest in peace Nedra.
We love you.
