Nancy Evelyn Jones

April 29, 1960 — May 31, 2015

Nancy Evelyn Cooper Jones, age 55, passed away May 31, 2015 in St. George, Utah surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on April 29, 1960 in Richmond, California, adopted, and sealed to William "Bill" Heber Johnson and Venetta Mackley Cooper. After a long and difficult struggle with diabetes, she surrendered to complications from her condition.

She was raised in Logandale, NV where she grew up playing softball and volleyball. Nancy lived most of her life in Moapa Valley. She loved the valley and supporting the school, fair and livestock show. She was an avid photographer and loved to capture her children and friends doing the things that they enjoyed doing. She loved to craft, sew and collect things. She enjoyed working obsessively in the Scouting Program.

She is survived by her husband Lyle Jones of Overton; daughter, Brittan (Roshanda) McGhee of Layton, UT, son, Elder Dylan Jones serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Dakota Bismark Mission; two step daughters Jamie and Staci Jones of Mesquite, NV, step son, Kent (Lindy) Jones of Anaheim, CA; grandchildren: Ian and Wyatt Jones; mother, Venetta Cooper of Logandale, NV; brothers and sisters: Collett Phillipenas of Logandale, Matthew W. (DeeDee)Cooper of Mesquite, TX; Mendy Ann (Richard) Tanner of Newport News, VA and Ronald D. (Angie)Cooper of Henderson, NV. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Hunter and her loving father William Cooper.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11am at the Overton LDS 3rd Ward Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow at the Logandale Cemetery.

She left us too soon but accomplished so much in the time that she was with us. She cared so much for those around her. She truly left her mark on our hearts.
