Myrle Louise Hannig

February 12, 1919 — May 17, 2014

Myrle Louise Hannig, age 95, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Beehive Memory Care in St. George, Utah. She was born February 12, 1919 in Gunlock, Utah to Joseph Eugene and Essie Vilate Barney Leavitt. On June 15, 1936 she married Arnold Joseph Hannig in Washington, Utah. They were sealed May 10, 1959 in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2013.

Myrle grew up in Gunlock, until as a teenager she moved to St. George and later to Moapa Valley in 1944. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, quilting, and cooking. She always had a treat ready when you stopped by.

She served as Relief Society President of the Logandale Ward for many years. Myrle was a constant care giver to her children, grandchildren and friends - a true charitable woman.

Survivors include one son and two daughters: Jerry (Katherine) of Logandale, NV: El Rae Rasmussen of Las Vegas, NV; Peggy (Charles) Ross of Spring City, UT; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; one sister, Dora Jean (Marvin) Woodbury of St. George, UT.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logandale Stake Center. Visitation will be Monday, May 26, 2014 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary and again on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel . Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
