Myra S. Tobler

Myra S. Tobler, age 93, of Mesquite, Nevada passed away March 22, 2010. She was born on October 31, 1916 in Logan, Utah to Eugene and Mary Ann Gilgen Schaub. Myra grew up in Logan, Utah and graduated from Logan High School. After graduation she went to Salt Lake City where she attended beauty school. She met Iren Mark Tobler and they were married in the St. George Temple on February 14, 1942. Shortly after their wedding, Iren went to fight in World War II and their love continued on through letters. After his return they moved to Mesquite where they raised a family and ran a dairy farm. Iren passed away on November 18, 1988 .

Myra is honored by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered by her family as a person with a great sense of humor, the life of the party, a caring friend and a devoted wife to her husband. Her children, along with all those who visited her home, were blessed with her good cooking and savored the excellent bread she made. She was an artist and enjoyed writing poems, collecting porcelain dolls, crocheting, and writing letters which included an extensive life history. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served side by side with her husband in the St. George Temple and did extraction work in English and German for a number of years.

Myra is survived by her six children: Mary Jean (Floyd) James of Brookings, OR, Todd Norman(Venice) Tobler of St. George, UT, Jay (Coleen) Tobler of Mesquite, NV, Glen Allen (Michele) Tobler of Mesquite, NV, Rex Wayne (Anna) Tobler of Denver, CO, Dale Eugene (Lorraine) Tobler of Mesquite, NV; a brother Frank (Ada) Schaub of Smithfield, UT; two sisters: Margene (Dr. Clyde) Hurst of Mendon, UT, and Koleen Whittington of Thousand Oaks, CA; 26 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Iren Mark Tobler, a grandchild Devin Eugene Tobler, and a daughter-in-law Lori Tobler.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 11:00 am at the Mesquite LDS Stake Center on North Arrowhead Lane . Visitation will be held Friday, March 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the LDS Whipple Chapel and prior to the service on Saturday at the LDS Stake Center from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
