Orrin Vermonte "Mont" Larsen, age 65, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in St. George, Utah. He was born October 25, 1949 in Ogden, Utah to Orrin William and Melba Mae Preece Larsen. On July 10, 1996 he married Clarissa Jane Lang in Las Vegas, Nevada and later were sealed in the St. George Temple on July 1, 2006.
Mont grew up and lived most of his life in Ogden, Utah. As a young boy he fished the Ogden River, he loved the adventure and the outdoors. As he grew, he found opportunities to earn money by working in stained glass and trapping. Hunting and fishing were his hobbies. Eighteen years ago, he moved to Mesquite, Nevada where he worked at Hafen's Texaco, Arcon Healthcare and later for Bulldog Pest Control. He will be remembered for his story telling and for his love of family and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Clarissa "CJ" of Mesquite; four sons and two daughters: Jackie (Tim) McAtee of Brigham City, UT; Dan (Sam) Larsen of Ogden, UT; Kristopher (Becca) Jarrett; Colby Larsen both of Logan, UT; Mark Jeter and Mira Mae Larsen both of Mesquite, NV; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his mother, Melba Larsen of Ogden, UT and one brother, Paul (Elaine) Larsen of North Ogden, UT.
Mont is preceded in death by his father, Orrin William, his brother, Lynn, and two sons, David and Jordan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Mesquite 6th Ward Whipple Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6 - 8 p.m. and again from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Mesquite City Cemetery.
